IID represented Bangladesh at the Leadership Meeting of People’s Action for Learning Network (PAL Network). The Leadership meet focused on planning, conducting, monitoring and communicating the citizen-led assessment process and exchanged ideas among the network members. IID shared its experience with the tab-based survey during the piloting of basic competency assessment following Aser model, and the citizen report on primary education that it conducted in partnership with BRAC and Actionaid, respectively.
The People’s Action for Learning Network (PAL Network) is a south-south collaboration where member countries work across three continents—Africa, Asia and South America— assess the basic reading and numeracy competencies of over children in their homes through citizen-led assessments.
The ASER Centre, a unit of Pratham Education Foundation, in partnership with the PAL Network organized the event that held in Aurangabad, India from 6th – 10th June 2016. It followed the decisions members took during the 4th annual meeting of PAL Network that happened in Dakar, Senegal earlier this year.
