On occasion of the Right to Know Day 2016, the Information Commission, Right to Information (RTI) Forum, and IID are jointly hosting an e-Seminar on Thursday the 29th September 2016 starting at 11 am.
The topic of discussion will be “To what extent the Right to Information Act of Bangladesh has been able to ensure people’s right to information?”
Opening remarks will be given by Chief Information Commissioner Professor Dr. Md. Golam Rahman. Just like last year, we are expecting online participation from Honorable Minister of Information Hasanul Haq Inu MP, Information Commissioner Nepal Chandra Sarker, and Convenor of RTI Forum Shaheen Anam and former Information Commissioner Professor Sadeka Halim, among others. Other participants will include a wide range of stakeholders from senior government representatives to those involved in implementing RTI and representatives from CSOs and other national institutions.
The online seminar will take place at IID’s opinion-sharing site www.obhimat.com/rtk16 where one can take part in the discussion online from anywhere, till 5 pm on 3rd October.
