Citizen-led assessment can play a vital role in assessing the quality education, as indicated in the Monitoring Framework for the Sustainable Development Goal, highlighted IID in the 18th UNESCO-APEID Conference.
IID shared its approach to citizen-led assessment for monitoring of the quality of education at the UNESCO-APEID Conference that was held in Bangkok, Thailand on 26-28 October 2016.
IID’s presentation at the 5th session of the conference highlighted the need for citizen-led household based national assessment of children’s basic competencies. The presentation also noted IID’s approach and experience with the global network in this regard, and the challenges and opportunities IID see in scaling up such assessment in Bangladesh.
Hannah-May Wilson from PAL Network Secretariat, of which IID is a member, made the presentation on behalf of IID. IID’s unique approach, localization of the Aser model, and digital survey process was particularly appreciated by the participants of the conference.
Other presentations from NEQMAP and PAL Network members focused on the nuts and bolts of citizen-led, household-based assessments.
