IID is conducting the evaluation of Sesame Workshop’s financial empowerment initiative, Dream, Save, Do: Financial Empowerment for Families. This initiative aims to create awareness among children and parents for the financial empowerment of the families.
The educational framework of the project emphasizes on rational decision making and positive behavioral development focusing on financial empowerment that targets young children (ages 3–8) and their families. This campaign is currently being implemented in Brazil, China, India, Mexico, Chile and Bangladesh.
IID is conducting the research in partnership with a New York based think tank Education Development Center (EDC).
On the 10th of July 2018, IID team visited a local school in Hajaribagh Dhaka, one of the sites of the Sesame’s initiative. The study will be conducted in four such sites of Dhaka city.
This evaluation study an in-depth, small-scale qualitative research that has two goals-
- To use the information to guide specific program improvements and refinements as the programs expands in Bangladesh, and
- To use the findings to communicate the importance of each program to local stakeholders, such as early childhood educators and decision makers.
