The three days long workshop was held in Dhaka at IID’s office premises from 15th to 17th January, 2018. This was the 1st International Workshop between the Nepal based foundation ‘Samriddhi’ & IID. The workshop focused on IID’s recent initiative to increase youth involvement in policy advocacy where IID is glad to have ‘Center for International Private Enterprise’ (CIPE) as a partner.
Few of IID’s team members participated whereas Manogya Sharma & Deependra Chaulagain from ‘Samriddhi’ moderated the workshop. Activities of the workshop included scenario mapping, debate session, stimulation of the youth leadership program and outdoor teamwork activities over the period of three days.
The first day of the workshop was devoted to ice breaking session, sharing participants’ expectation from the workshop, scenario mapping on IID’s position on youth leadership program and introduction of Samriddhi’s own leadership programs by Manogya Sharma.
The second day started with a debate session, where participants competed with each other by being divided into two groups followed by an entrepreneurial session where participants paired up to operate a real business with limited resources aiming to earn profit. After the sessions, participants shared their feedback and how those activities can be applied in Bangladesh’s context.
During a sunny afternoon, an outdoor teamwork based activity was organized on the third and final day of the workshop. The outdoor activities included spider web, human knot, trust fall, magic pipe etc. Participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas together in a nice informal environment. The workshop then continued indoor with participants reviewing the whole session and sharing learnings through the events.
The workshop concluded on a positive note as IID and Samriddhi both expressed gratitude and agreed on continuing to share experiences with each other in the days to come.
