IID has completed the baseline survey of 4000 of BRAC’s microfinance clients. Earlier, IID signed a contract with the University of California, Berkley to conduct a baseline and an end line survey to understand the income and expenditure patterns of those small loan receivers.
The baseline survey involved 2000 respondents under treatment group (factors) and 2000 respondents under control group from across the country. The 43-member survey team, including 32 enumerators, 8 team-leaders/field supervisors, 2 field coordinators, 1 field manager, and 3 researchers took one month to conducted the tab-based survey in 19 districts across the country.
IID’s paperless tab-based survey not only enabled geospatial mapping of the survey data, it also ensured the quality and real-time monitoring of the survey data.
IID will conduct the end-line survey for this study next year.
